Then we must select the Draft or Outline View as we mentioned before and we will notice the style for each paragraph shown in the column to the left of our text. Once we have typed the width we want we press the OK button to return to our document. Once selected we scroll down in the W ord Options window until we find the category Display and then at the right of the command Style Area Pane Width in Draft and Outline View we type in the centimeters of the width we want for the pane to be. Once the Word Options window appears we select the category Advanced from the left of the window. In Word 2010, we must select the File Tab in order to go to Backstage View and from the drop down menu to select the category Options. For this we must select the View Tab and from the area of the window named Documents Views to select either Outline or Draft as shown in the image below. One way of seeing what styles have been applied to our document is to show the Style Area Pane in the Draft and Outline View. When we create a New Blank Document it is based on the Normal Template, and the text that we type are based on the Normal style.
